Do I need to install solar panels on my home?
No. Nothing is installed at your home and no equipment is attached to your property. You're subscribing to a share of a nearby solar project, which is why renters can participate just as easily as homeowners.
What does it cost to join?
Nothing. No sign-up fee, no installation cost, no credit check, no long-term commitment, and no cancellation fee. Your savings appear directly on the PSE&G bill you already receive.
How does the billing work?
Everything happens on the PSE&G bill you already receive. PSE&G uses consolidated billing, so your solar credits and the cost of your subscription both appear on that one bill and net out automatically.
Your subscription is always priced below the value of the credits you receive, by 45%. The credits are always worth more than you are charged for them, and that difference is your savings. You will never receive a separate bill from Solar Simplified.
How do I know if I'm income-qualified?

Does anything change about my PSE&G service?
No. PSE&G remains your utility and handles your service exactly as they do today. Community solar doesn't switch your provider or affect reliability, and there's no interruption to your power. New Jersey's Community Solar Energy Program is established in state rules and overseen by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities.
